After a filling
Avoid chewing on that side until the numbness has fully worn off — it is easy to bite your cheek without noticing. Mild sensitivity to cold for a few days is normal.
After a cleaning
Gums may be tender for a day or two. Keep brushing gently; skipping it because it is sore is what causes the next problem.
After gum treatment
Expect some bleeding when brushing for the first few days. Use the interdental brushes we sized for you daily — that is where the result actually comes from.
When to call us
Pain that increases rather than settles after 48 hours, swelling, or a filling that feels high when you bite. Any of those, call the practice.
